But not only animasl can be found here but also about 2000 different types of plants and flowers, a Japanese garden, unique rock gardens, a palm house and much more. You can have your lunch at the zoo as well or just buy a snack and a drink.There are 8 snack bar sin the zoo and one rewstaurant.  There are special programmes every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.for young and old from 16 April until the end of summer. Ask the staff for details!

If you get to the zoo by public transport you can use the underground, yellow line, and get off at Shechenyi Furdo. If you come by trolley bus you can take number 72, 75 or 79 and get off at Allatkert stop or you can take a bus number 20E, 30, 30A or 105 and get off at Heroes’ Square. It is advisable not to come by car as it is extremely hard to find a parking space near the zoo.

From May until the end of August Budapest Zoo opens at 9 every day and from Monday to Thursday it closes at 18:30, from Friday to Sunday at 19:00. In April and September closing times are an hour earlier, 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., in March and October another half an hour earlier, 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and from November to February the zoo closes at 4 p.m.

Tickets for adults are 2400 Huf, for children between the ages of 2 and 14 a ticket costs 1700Huf and also for students with a valid student card (ISIC). There is a special family ticket for two adults and 2 children for the price of 6900 Huf and there is a discount for additional children for 1250 Huf. For groups of at least 10 people an adult ticket is 1800 Huf, for students and children 1250Huf. If you have a Budapest card, visiting Budapest Zoo is free for the cardholder and also a child under 14.

Budapest Zoo and the Botanical gardens are in the same place and it is a good site to relax just a few steps from the city park.

City Park lake is a great place to rest after a day of sightseeing. Visit Heroes' square, the Museum of Fine arts and Hall of Art in Heroes' square and then stroll along the lake.

If you get hungry while you're in Budapest Zoo or the city park you can have lunch or dinner in the famous Gundel restaurant next to the zoo.

If you come with children next to Budapest Zoo you can find Budapest Circus and the amusement park.

Others might enjoy watching animals. If you come by car you can park near Budapest Zoo but there are only a limited number of parking spaces.
